Access to clean, drinkable water is grossly restricted in many parts of Myanmar.
Often, a single water pump or well is shared by countless individuals, and too often, it becomes contaminated when animals drink from the same water supply or the rains wash rubbish in.
Additionally, a lack of education in the hygienic storage of water, together with an absence of sanitary infrastructure and sewerage treatment, leads to diseases such as cholera, typhoid and Hepatitis A.
A donation of $600 will enable GraceWorks to provide water pumps for communities. Once installed, GraceWorks educates community members in the safe and hygienic use of them.
